From Japan to country kitchen

Avid horticulturalists will appreciate the care taken in planting with over 6,000 labelled species on show.

Walk through 30 acres of themed gardens, each with their own habitat and flora and fauna.

Wander through pathways bordered by heathers and adorned with a stag sculpture only to find yourself in a traditional Japanese Garden with stepping stones and a hut. Enter a ‘pinetum’ or sample the delights made in the country kitchen.

There is wheelchair and pushchair access throughout most of the gardens.

Cornish Cottage Garden

Traditional cottage garden with a fish pond with koi carp and goldfish and a second smaller pond for rare newts.

An authentic Skakkei garden based on the gardens of Kyoto in Japan with a 17th century style Japanese summer house.

Courtyard Garden

Formally planted with grasses and colourful borders and arranged around a central statue.
